Good Morning,

Today for my Pinque Peacock posting I have
gone far out of my comfort zone. I am generally
a card maker and I will dabble in a little bit of scrapbooking.
However, lately I have been challenging myself to
crawl out of my box and expand my horizons.
I have done just that with today’s project.

I have created an altered Mini Milk bottle. I have
always had a passion for the old style jars and
containers, however, until recently, I have not
had the desire to alter them. A friend gave me
this mini milk bottle and I found it perfect for this
occasion. We crafters are all hoarders in a way,
would you agree. When I first started this project,
I thought, what can I do with the bottle once I am
done? But of course, this is a perfect and
safe place to store all of my Pinque buttons.

Here is how I created my altered mini milk bottle:

I used special order colors for my layered flowers.
If you follow my blog, you will see that I am a
pink person, so it was a no brainer that I do
something with pink. So I asked Jessica to make
me some pink and lime green flowers. Yep, pink
and lime green snake print. Aren’t they just
the most wonderful colors together?

I layered the two flowers over the top of paper doilies
that I cut into fourths, this helped take away from the
bright shine of the wonderful milk bottle. For the
top of my bottle I used one of the larger fabric
covered buttons. My intention was to use it as a
pin cushion for my pinque angel stick pins,
however, that did not work, so I will have to
create something different for my pins. I am
however contemplating adding some roses to the top.
I am undecided if it looks unfinished or not.
Remember, this is all new to me.

Believe it or not, the process was all so very easy
up until the time it came time to add the bow. It
is also no secret that I cannot make bows that look
decent, and while I have had the bottle done for
a few days now, the bow has shamed me into a
last minute posting. (I am so bad). I have played
with ribbon and procrastinated making my bow that
I have made myself late for my posting. This morning,
after a gentle nudge for Rhonda, I thought,
“It is now or never” and I simply wrapped the two
colors of 3 Girls Jam ribbon around my fingers
and tied them in a knot. WOW, I think I might like
my bow. Will I ever be able to replicate that bow? I
then finished off my bow by adding two angel pins in a criss cross.

I now have the perfect place to
safely hoard my pinque buttons.

Thanks for taking the time to view my altered
milk bottle. I would love to know what you think.

Kimberly
