Hello Crafty Friends,
Its An'Jenic from AJ Scrapbooking & Cards.
Today I'm sharing a fun Pinque Peacock Thanksgiving Centerpiece. Or if you like it can be a Fall Decor. I've had the idea to altar this pen holder for so long. And when a facebook group I'm a part of give use a challenge to used a Holiday theme ribbon I thought now would be a great time to get this done. Will needless to say my ribbon did not have that Thanksgiving theme. I only share this with that one person and they said nope maybe you could stamp trees on it. Will I know what design I had in mind and I was not going to change it. I must say I'm very happy I didn't. You know the say "Go With Your First Mind" I did. I'm excited to share it with you all.
You all will be my second crafty friends to have seen this.
For my first picture you will see spots of brown paint where I tried to repaint my pen holder. I even took the bottom panel off. But as you can see the paint did not stay on well. I then remember that I had clear gesso. I've had this clear gesso by Liquitex for a month now and have been trying to figure out what to do with it. So I used the clear gesso and it worked like magic.
Now I'm going to share two different looks.
My First Look:
I used some of the beautiful evergreen branches we have in the state of Washington. Everywhere you look in WA you see these beautiful full and tall trees. And I know right away I wanted to use some. And I can't tell you how long the branches have stayed so healthy in my home. And the branches add a fresh smell of fall to my home. I used Pinque Peacock: Beaded Stick Pin, Fabric Covered Button, and some burlap from the Discount Hut @ Pinque Peacock HERE.
My Second Look:
Okay as you can see by adding some fresh leaves you add color. With color it helps brings my clean and simple centerpiece to life. I also used some beautiful leaves right in front of my yard. I and you can see how will the colors pull in together. Also with any leaves with out the tree the leaves do die but you can always replace them with some other beautiful leaves or branches. And if you look closer you will see the buds from the evergreen sticking out. And remember if you love any of Pinque Peacock products I used to day you can find them HERE:

Oh my goodness!!! This is really awesome. I love how you did this. Today, I was watering al my wonderful orchids and I was trying to figure out a way to cover the ugly vases. You have provided me some great inspiration.

AJ these are so beautiful! I love the look of both of them. What a great idea to alter this container. I'll also have to look for this clear gesso. What an enabler you have become, lol. The button and stick pin add so much to this project. TFS
Wow! Love that centerpiece. Both of them look terrific. I think the last one with that red in it really grabs your attention. Beautiful job Anjenic :)
